MIX '09 Plans

My MIX plans, and some hints about what my presentation will be about...

My MIX '09 plans got finalized last week - I'll be attending, and giving a talk as well: "Building Data-driven Applications with Silverlight and ASP.NET" … look for MIX09-T41F on the session list. Its currently listed under Silverlight (need to see if can also be listed under ASP.NET as well).

The talk title and the description could certainly be a bit more meaningful than the placeholders right now - they will be ... after the keynote, once the new technology I'll be drilling into will be publicly announced.

Some hints in the mean time... :-)

  • It will be about data and developer frameworks aimed at developer productivity (I've been working on that angle of Web development since the early ASP.NET days, so you might have come to expect that)...
  • It will give me a chance to bring together ASP.NET, Silverlight and Ajax, i.e. the stuff I've worked on over the past few years, and get a chance to speak to the .NET continuum with actual bits, and thats always exciting.
  • It will bring together key technologies such as LINQ and Azure (which I've been looking to integrate into my scenario since my Azure post from PDC.)

Hope to see you there, and excited to be able to soon blog about what I've been up to for the past year or so...

If folks would like to meet up at MIX down in Vegas, ping me - I'd love to chat about RIAs, Silverlight, Silverlight.FX, ASP.NET, Script# and in general the Web... and where things are headed!

Sounds great. Unfortunately (?) I'm going to TechEd instead of Mix. Will you be presenting this there as well?

Not sure about TechEd right now...
However, I am sure the MIX session content will be available for offline viewing as well.

I wish I could b there. I've enjoyed your blog immensely. Any chance of your covering higher level patterns relative to M-V-VM? I find most examples and dicussion only cover trivial exmaples where there's not a lot of View to View (or ViewModel) interaction. I find myself implementing controllers for this coordination but am often curious what other developers are doing in this regard....

I will not be covering ViewModel at MIX itself, but definitely hope to dive deeper into it on view to view and view model to view (and vice versa) communication... I haven't seen it covered adequately so far.

Are you planning another release for script# ?

@rekna - I hope to... I have a couple of things I'd like to add (incl. jQuery support) once I get a bit more time after MIX, and get script# to v1.0 status :-)

Intrigued by SilverlightFX.
Will give it a spin...
Quick question: Is this same as Prism (Composite App Blocks), similar to Prism or totally different?
Thx.
